IMS Landscape Consultancy is a Chartered Landscape Architect and Garden Design Practice based near York in North Yorkshire. IMS Landscape Consultancy specialise in the creation of meaningful outdoor places where experience is considered as important as aesthetics and function.

IMS Landscape Consultancy services offer comprehensive and bespoke design solutions, we work in a variety of Landscape Architecture disciplines including garden design, urban design and rural public realm settings as well as in schools.

Ian Simkins is also co-founder of elp:rdu ( The Experiential Landscape Place Research and Development Unit - www.elprdu.com) with colleague Dr. Kevin Thwaites of the University of Sheffield.

In addition to the experiential landscape research, Ian and Kevin are also active members of UStED (Urban Sustainability through Environmental Design) an International network of urban design theorists and practitioners formed to research, co-ordinate and disseminate tools of sustainable urban design, with special emphasis on urban public space and its value to sustaining fulfilled lives (www.usted-urbandesign.org)
